English aspires to be an outstanding department that promotes life-long readers and nurtures a love of literature, as well as ensuring that students are well prepared for their examinations and the future study if English based courses and careers. We aim to encourage an appreciation of the power and beauty of words and the ways that words can be used to ensure all voices are heard and all ideas are understood.
