Health & Wellbeing

At Warblington School, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our students, providing comprehensive support and resources to ensure they thrive both academically and personally.

Student Wellbeing Officer and Health Suite

Our dedicated Student Wellbeing Officer operates the Health and Wellbeing suite within the school, offering support for day-to-day medical needs. Whether students are feeling unwell, need medication, or require emotional support, our Health Suite is equipped to cater to their needs. We provide emotional support to students with long-term physical conditions, promoting positive mental wellbeing and access to educational opportunities to maximize rehabilitation. Additionally, students with specific concerns, such as eating disorders or school phobia, are supported in the Health and Wellbeing Suite and Pastoral Office.

Parent and Carer Support

We understand the importance of supporting parents and carers in ensuring the overall wellbeing of our students. Our Wellbeing Guide assists families in seeking help and advice from school resources and external organizations. We also provide resources such as CAMHS’ ‘The Good Mental Health Handbook’ for parents, offering practical tips, advice, and signposting for mental health support. Our aim is to foster a trusting and proactive home-school relationship, ensuring open dialogue and effective support for families.

Pastoral Care and Support Staff

Our excellent pastoral care is a cornerstone of Warblington School. Each year group has a dedicated Pupil Progress Lead, supported by a team of tutors, Behavior Support Officers, and an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant. These staff members work collaboratively to provide individualized support and guidance to students, addressing specific difficulties and promoting overall wellbeing. Additionally, our Attendance Officer works to promote good attendance and provide assistance to pupils and families in overcoming attendance barriers.

Medical Support

We have fully qualified staff members trained in administering first aid across the school. Students who require regular medication are supported in managing their own medicines, with procedures in place for those who need assistance. Our school also provides support for students with asthma, ensuring access to emergency medication if needed.

In addition to in-school support, we recommend external resources such as Kooth, an online service providing support for exam stress, anxiety, panic attacks, and more.
